This is an important race in an important election. The makeup of Longmont’s city council is about to change. I know Shakeel through his work on housing at the county and local level. Shakeel is an active, out of the box thinker who wants to be Mayor, and wants to do the work and I’m really proud to endorse him.

Longmont stands at a pivotal moment in its history, requiring bold leadership to guide us toward a smarter future. Shakeel has carefully studied our challenges and offers coherent, innovative solutions—just ask him! With his thoughtful analysis and authentic love for all—not just some—members of our community, he is the leader we need.

Shakeel fell in love with Longmont when he moved here and immediately sought ways to help. He has made it his passion to learn everything he can about how our community works so he can be a better neighbor to us all. As mayor, I know Shakeel will incorporate all he has learned to building a better Longmont.

If I had to name one person outside of elected office who has done the most to improve our city on every axis imaginable, it would be Shakeel. It IS Shakeel. He has given his wisdom to improve Public Safety, served on the Board of the Longmont Community Foundation, and founded LAUNCH Longmont Housing, to improve housing policy, multimodal transit, and citizen engagement.
In none of these arenas is he serving his own personal needs, or any monied special interest. He is already working for Longmont, 100%.
It’s high time he became Mayor.

Shakeel understands the relationship between cities and the happiness and health of all residents. By modifying the built environment to be designed with people, nature and health at their heart, Longmont will continue to work toward its potential.

We are a Longmont native (Randy) and forty-five-year resident (Sue) who raised our kids in Longmont. Between us, we’ve served our community as small business owners, as an educator and librarian with SVVSD, and on various nonprofit and city boards. We are inspired by Shakeel’s passion, knowledge, and energetic approach to making Longmont even better and more affordable for both current and future generations, who should be able to afford to live in this city we love. We enthusiastically endorse Shakeel Dalal for mayor!

Shakeel has the passion, ideas and energy to guide Longmont into the future, ensuring our city remains healthy, diverse and economically viable. As an architect of and advocate for attainable and affordable housing, I especially appreciate his forward, out of box approaches to increase the opportunity of home ownership for all Longmont residents.

As a business owner, social worker and mom of young kids – I appreciate Shakeel’s focus on affordable housing, safe streets and supporting neighborhood businesses. Shakeel shows up for conversation in public spaces where average Longmont residents are gathered to listen, connect and build community.

I fully support and endorse Shakeel for Mayor. Longmont needs a new direction – one that serves the majority of us. Shakeel brings that fresh vision for affordable housing and a walkable community that Longmont needs

Longmont needs smart, talented people in leadership positions. I love that Shakeel is focused on improving housing and mobility in our community.
The difference between a politician and a mayor is that politicians want to get votes and a mayor wants to get things done. It’s already clear Shakeel wants to get things done.

It takes a lot of walkies and a lot of love to keep me happy. I’m lucky to live on a block where kids feel safe playing outside, so there’s always plenty of people outside to pet me. I also love going for long walks, and living in a neighborhood where that’s safe has made me so happy.
Every dog should be as lucky as me, and Shakeel is committed to building a Longmont that is good for every dog.
